Please take some time to look at the samples of our work below. All of the photographs have detailed descriptions of the work performed and the story behind why the photograph needed to be restored. Every photograph has a story, and every restoration does as well.

You will also want to take a look at our 'test' portrait. Please be patient while it loads, we made it large so you can get a good look at it. See if you can find the alterations that were made (if any!), and then look at the 'answer'.

To view the 'before' versions of all of the photographs, please place your mouse over the images.

All photographs on this website are owned by Repaired Memories. Please do not download or link to them without permission. We appreciate your cooperation.

This child passed away from Polio in the early 1940's. This is the only photograph her younger brother has of her. The girl's face was in shadow, and the picture was badly damaged.

We removed most of the shadow, repaired the cracks and stains and enlarged it to a modern 5x7 size.

The original to this photograph was lost by the newspaper that printed it. The only copy that exists is the printed one in an old, damaged printed paper.

The photograph is from 'Grandparents Day' at the school of the child on the left. The girl on the right was a friend whose Grandparents were unable to attend lunch. The owner of the picture wanted the girl removed and the best possible reconstruction of her grandparents.

The child in this photograph passed away at age four. There are very few photographs of her, and this was a special one to her parents. It was a Polaroid picture that had become stuck to the glass in the frame it was in. It was badly cracked and discolored.

This photograph presented some special challenges. The couple did not have a professional photographer at their wedding and relied on the photos taken by friends and family to capture the day. Unfortunately, they did not get a good 'portrait' taken. Using two different photos for base material we created a third new photograph for them.

The original of this photograph had been left folded in a drawer for many years. It also had the Maid of Honor and the Best Man in the photo. The couple's son wanted it repaired and the other couple taken out.

We fixed the damage and constructed a background for the photo. The new print was then placed in an oval mat for framing. We have displayed it here as a faded oval.

Sometimes damage to a photograph is barely noticeable, but small repairs make a difference in the overall quality of the photo, especially when viewed up close. This photograph was of our customer's mother at grade school graduation. There were many small scratches and folds in the paper, the photo had been cut unevenly and was out of focus.

We cleaned up the image and sharpened it; she gave prints to all of her siblings and the 'new original' to her mother for her 80th birthday.

This was another interesting project. The three family members in the photograph all competed in the same race together, and the race photographer took very similar photos from the same location on the race course. However, the photos were taken nearly an hour apart from each other. This presented unique challenges in relation to the angle of the shadows on the ground and the overall color of the images.
